Who is responsible for your information

Lewis Zangaro, a sole trader trading as The SelfMade Tattoo Company (Hampton Road, Wolverhampton, WV10, United Kingdom), is the data controller for the information collected through this website. You can reach me at lewis@theselfmadetattoocompany.co.uk.

Information collected through the enquiry form

When you send an enquiry I collect your name, email address, phone number and the details you give me about the tattoo you want: style, colour preference, description, placement, size, budget, availability, whether it is a cover-up and whether you would like a consultation. I use this only to answer your enquiry, quote your tattoo and manage your booking. The lawful basis is legitimate interests and, where you have asked me to contact you, your consent.

Images you upload

Reference images and photos of existing tattoos are always optional. Uploaded images are stored securely by my website and enquiry systems and are used solely to design and plan your tattoo. They are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. If you would like an uploaded image deleted, email me and I will remove it.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

This website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality (for example remembering your light or dark mode preference), for analytics so I can see how the site is used, and for advertising measurement. Where advertising or analytics tags are active they may set cookies in your browser and record parameters from the link you arrived on, such as campaign identifiers from Google or Meta. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential features will still work.

Who I share information with

Your enquiry is passed to the customer management and email systems I use to run the studio, and to my hosting and storage providers. They process your information on my instructions only. I never sell your information.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to 24 months so I can pick up the conversation if you come back to me. Client records and consent forms relating to completed tattoos are kept for as long as required for health, safety and insurance purposes, then deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email me and I will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
